Being personally coached by Allison, was an unexpected delight. I was not sure that it was the next right step for me so I was very hesitant to do it. Coaching that I had before was quite regimented as a process and not at all the fluid, spiritual experience I had with Allison.

Allison's eternal perspective approach brings joy to the journey and a closer intimacy with Jesus and that was what I wanted from these times together. I remember the look in pastor Jack’s eyes the day I came to know Jesus. After he read Ps 68 – “God will put the lonely in families," I felt a golden glow of hope ignite in my heart.

But even though the next 35 years contained many blessings and experiences of God’s lavish love and healing, I did not have the sense of family I had hoped for. There had been fleeting glimpses but the gap between the verses to “encourage one another” or “accept one another” and my experience were wide. There was more focus on behavior and doing good things for God than developing deep relationship with Him and others.

Before Grace Spaces, I had awareness of that gap but still felt deep disappointment in truly connecting that said, “There must be something wrong with me.”

When I read that "community" was one of the values of Grace Spaces (learn more), I wasn't sure I was up for another disappointment.

However, the first day of Grace Spaces coaching group re-lit that flame of hope. As the weeks proceeded I experienced love and acceptance of family in the space that Jesus and Allison created. Community needs time, attention, and scaffolding. Grace Spaces provided that I am eternally grateful.

I have been able to take this experience, along with my ever-healing heart into other groups and relationships. The small group I lead is entirely different now and I see amazing fruit!
